Support our Troops!

For all of you already there and those of you getting ready to leave, I will ALWAYS pray and support you!

*Turn up your volume*

You stay up for 16 hours.
He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

If you support your troops, the click "reply to poster" copy all the codes, and repost the bulletin.

If you don't support your troops well, then don't re-post. You won't die in 7 days, your love life won't be affected, and you won't have the worst day ever. You don't have to repost. It's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your rights.

A Sunday Evening

Tonight we decided to go outside after dinner. The kids all rode bikes while Jesse and I started cleaning out our cars (they both were due).

See Chris ride!? He does really well!

Check out Emma! She also does a wonderful job riding her bike.

Then there is little Matt. Before today he has only been riding the little car around the house. It has no peddles so those were very new for him. Needless to say, he didn't get it, but still did a great job at getting around, and loved it!

After awhile, the bikes got old and into the sprinklers they went. Chris of course was first. I'm hoping this works out, I'm going to try and attached a little video I made using our camera. Sorry if my voice when you hear it is kinda loud, you know since I was holding the camera and all.

Biggs Water Park

On Thursday this week I took the kids to the water park here on base. Well really it is on the air field, Biggs, still part of it all. Emma and Chris had so much fun. Matt had fun, so long as he was out of the water. I don't know what it was, maybe all the kids or the big mushroom in the middle that water sprays down from but he just didn't want to really be in the water.

I brought some of our floaties to play with. Never again will I forget the air pump though! Chris and Emma loved playing with theirs and Matt did ok for a little bit when he was in his. Needless to say, we will definitely be going back again soon!

Chris in his ring, wanting what Matt has.

Emma enjoying the sun!

The little bit I was able to get Matt in the water without holding him or him making a fuss.

Flash Flood!

I didn't even know we were expecting rain, let alone a giant downpour with hail none the less. See the above picture? I pulled that off a news site. The dark clouds looming over, lightening filling the sky. Let me tell you, they are not in anyway prepared for big rains down here. There is no place for the water to go so it just floods the streets.

I can tell you Jesse was safe at home. Now the kids and I, well we had driven a friend to a dr appt at the hospital (WBAMC). Out our way home, the rains hit, and they hit hard. Hail was bouncing off our car, I slowed to about 10 mpr, had my flashers & lights on as well my wipers on high. Yet for a big part I could barely see and even times it was just too thick of blanket I couldn't see at all. Once we got close to a gate (not the normal one I would go in), we entered the post. Even if we had to leave the car, I felt a lot better just being on base. But thankfully, we all made it home safe! Where the rains stopped shortly after.

7 Years!!!

July 8, 2000

On July 8 of this year, Jesse and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. It's amazing it has been that long already. Time flies so quickly. If someone told me 10 years ago, I would be married, to a solider no less, have 3 kids and living in Texas, I probably would have laughed at them.

We celebrated by having our own BBQ with our kids. Jesse made us wonderful steaks on the grill. The best part of it all, we were all together!

**I know this post is very delayed! I was hoping to add in a few more pics but wasn't able to get what I needed hooked up in a timely matter.

4th of July

While we didn't have our fireworks yet (the post is having them on Saturday) we still had some great fun. We had a friend over for a BBQ. After the guys washed and waxed their car and truck and the kids played in their pool. Here is a fun slide show I made of the fun!

One Expensive Sticker!

At least that is how it ended up for me. To normally get this little decal for your car, it will cost you just $26.50 ($12.50 if you are so lucky to have a very new vehicle or very old).

But little did I know when I bought the car, 2 little things didn't work. Thats right, just 2. The e-brake and the brights. Of course I just had to get a German car (thanks Jes, haha). No but really, they have everything down here for VWs just not Audis. So everything, was special order. Oh well, all is said and done now. I finally, have the other stickers I need to be able to get on and off the base. Yay!!
